Brand Applications

  • The American Forest & Paper Association is both one of the youngest and one of the oldest major trade groups in the nation and a leading voice for the forest products industry. To help unify AF&PA communications material we created a communications identity program, developing a standardized look for all AF&PA communications.
  • The American Resort Development Association is the world’s largest professional organization representing the vacation ownership and resort development industries. I was commissioned to revitalize their brand identity, developing an integrated marketing program and establishing a coordinated look to all of their print, web and trade show material.
  • Calhoun Renner is a Maryland accounting firm providing financial statements, business taxes, personal taxes, payroll services, bookkeeping, irs representation and more from startup companies to established businesses, from small medical practices to large distribution companies. To help establish their professional caliber a ligature was created to communicate accuracy, confidence and integrated services.
  • A non-profit, CSBA helps establish a vibrant local living economy promoting the benefits of recycling and reinvesting local dollars, educating locally owned businesses and the consumer. To support their mission, a new brand mark was created using a tree, symbolizing life. The completed mark includes birds, which symbolize cooperative business, filling the shape of the canopy.
  • A small business with 25 years as one of Maryland’s leading builders, Elegant began to notice a decrease in new home construction and an increase in DIY home remodeling. With equity in their name, they developed a new division of their business, offering Shell Building Systems to consumers. To help launch their new venture and compete with the large construction companies, I created their new brand mark along with an integrated marketing program. Marketing Packet and Inserts communicate the type of services and systems offered by the company.
  • The Enviro Center is a green building office complex, a hub of green building technologies and companies. To communicate their mission a new brand mark was created that clearly illustrates “green,” combining a “C” and a lower case “e,” and adding a leaf.
  • FEI offers leadership and management courses to career leaders of federal, local and state government. Located in Charlottesville, VA, FEI is staffed with America’s elite corps of training professionals. Flags are prominent fixtures on the FEI campus and line the entrance drive. So as a distinguishable element within the new identity a flag was selected and wrapped it with their initials.
  • Dedicated to superior customer service and achieving targeted results for people from all walks of life, Federal Hill Mortgage is a pioneer in integrity based lending. To help illustrate their company philosophy this mark was created showing a sun-kissed stick home representing the joy, freedom and promise that FHM brings to people every day.
  • Friendship School meets the needs of children with language-based learning differences (dyslexia) in grades 1 through 8. Having lived the life of a dyslexic, the school and the children hit really close to home. Knowing how these children can be overlooked within our society, I Imagined each student as a ripe piece of fruit on a tree and created a mark that combines the word “FRIENDSHIP” with the “TREE OF KNOWLEDGE.”
  • The Green Building Institute is a non-profit organization created to foster sustainable building practices through education and example. Utilizing their photography and text from existing web site, selecting proper colors and typography, a standardized design system was created for print, trade show booth and power point presentation, establishing an integrated marketing program that would grow the organization.
  • Healthy Planet is an international company dedicated to the development of sustainable living environments. With projects in North America, Costa Rico, Brazil and Mexico, Healthy planet compliments the local environment using indigenous materials creating affordable and ecological developments.
  • Intuitive Entrepreneur is a personal development program created by Kristen Dorsey of Divine Journeys and Lorrie Schoettler of Swallowtail Consulting. Designed for those who seek to create a financially viable and holistic small business, IE teaches skills such as business plan creation, financial projections, product development and pricing, forming a corporate entity, and marketing; combined with Shamanic journeying and meditation, ritual, sacred movement & sound, astrology and dream work. To help convey their mission, I used an open palm and introduced a lower case
  • NRRI researches and provides new information and democratizing existing knowledge to the country’s utility regulators. In doing so they empower utility regulators to make public interest decisions of the highest possible quality. To communicate their mission, a lighthouse was developed as a strong symbol signifying a “beacon of knowledge for all.”
  • NSPEX is an Energy Star certified home inspection company that checks for home energy efficiency. The new mark combines the name of the company along with the letter “x” in a house, replicating the box inspectors would mark on certification forms.
  • Locally owned and operated Baltimore cafés, Poulet offers meals for lunch or dinner along with gourmet catering. Built around an old-world French inspired rotisserie chicken menu, I focused on the use of a classic engraving framed easily within a circle. Products such as Poulet’s virgin olive oil can be purchased at each Poulet location or on-line. To develop graphic/brand consistency, we continued the use of engravings on all Poulet products. To continue the Poulet brand identity, we created signage, classic in design and function.
  • Spoons, in Baltimore's historic Federal Hill, has been a local favorite for years and the first Certified Green Restaurant in the State of Maryland. Offering in-house roasted coffee and espresso, Spoons also has a large variety of breakfast items served all day plus lunch items including soups, salads and sandwiches. The new brand mark underscores their name in a warm, playful and friendly way.
