When possible I try to spend most of my time outdoors, away from the studio.
Quiet, serene, my art department is the pastures of my farm.
It is within nature that I observe so many elements, shapes, colors, and textures that contribute to many of my brand mark designs.

Example: Cody’s Hope is a small foundation formed to raise funds for a young boy named Cody, severely burned in a house fire. Huge medical expenses and physical therapy sessions have hit his mother, a single parent, in a very dramatic way. However there is so much support and hope. His life now is like a rebirth, a beginning like when he was safe within his mother’s womb. The logo says it all. Cody being re-born, starting to grow and blossom, attached to the leaves of life.

Example: Transition Talks, sponsored by Sustainable Shepherdstown, a speakers series, presenting discussions from the green community on how Shepherstown, WV can move towards a sustainable future. Inspired by the shapes formed from tree leaves, I created the Transition Talks logo using two intersecting leaves, in a yin-yang motif. The leaves highlight green, interaction and exchange and underscores think globally, act locally.
Tip For Today: Determine if management’s revised goals and objectives have moved the organization to hold a more unique position in the marketplace. If so, it’s possible that the original brand mark needs to evolve as well.
